Play-Off Rules

 

Rules - Play-Off

Revised - Sept/02

Format - Round Robin with one division of 7 teams. The teams will play 4 other teams in the division to determine who advances to the semi finals. The top 4 teams will advance to a semi-final. The winners meet to determine "Play-Off Champions".
Regular league rules will apply.
Home team
will be determined by league standings
During the Round Robin the games will remain as a tie and teams will get
2 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss

Ties
If there is a tie in the Round Robin results, ties will be broken as follows:

  1. Results from games played against each other,
  2. Total run difference (maximum 7 runs per game)
  3. Most runs FOR and or Least runs AGAINST

 

  1. Play tie breaking innings until a winner can be declared, using international tie breaking rule

No protests, Umpires decision is final.

Home team must bat in the last inning unless ahead by 7 runs. Failure to comply by visiting team will result in a 7-0 score.

Home team responsible for keeping the official score. Winners responsible for returning score sheet to Ann or Joan, signed by the umpire after the game.

Semi-Final and Final games will be 7 Inning games with no time limit and will be played to a winner. If tied after 7 complete innings, International Rule applies, (last out from previous inning or last person on batting order in first inning starts the new inning on second base)
